“Impressionistic … often edged with the surreal” is how Book Reviews editor of Orbis Noel Williams described Apus.

Williams reviewed the chapbook of 20 poems inspired by the life of Mexican artist Frida Kahlo in the latest edition of the international literary journal.

He writes: “As background, her [Kahlo’s] paintings offer a kaleidoscope of images … The poet continually shakes that kaleidoscope … The result is a collection of vivid imagery, full of vitality … “.
